FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. WHAT IS OZONE? Ozone (03) is nature's most powerful bactericide and germicide, second only to fire for oxidization for DESTROYING bacteria, germs, and molds.
2. ISN'T OZONE BAD FOR YOU? Of course not, it's the same natural effect that a thunderstorm has on the air. It charges the air with ozone. You know the smell in the air after a thunderstorm? That's ozone, a natural air cleanser.
3. HOW DOES IT WORK? It uses low level ozone (03) to kill bacteria, germs, and molds. It also controls unwanted odors, pesticides and chemicals through oxidization. Much better than the old method of baking soda for eliminating odors. It attacks the air in your fridge, systematically killing any bacteria on contact.
4. HOW LONG DO THE BATTERIES LAST? For optimum performance, we strongly recommend changing the batteries every six months with high quality Duracell or Energizer alkaline batteries.
5. DOES IT HAVE A WARRANTY? Yes, it has a one year full warranty on all electronic components. Two weeks from the time the factory receives the warranted item, it will be shipped back to the consumer.
6. HOW LONG WILL MY FOOD LAST? Your meats, produce, cheeses, and eggs will stay fresh noticeably longer than ever before. FRIDGE GUARD will actually oxidize chemicals and pesticides and your food will be even safer than the day it left the store.
7. DOES FRIDGE GUARD HAVE FDA APPROVAL? The U.S.F.D.A. studies show "ozone generally recognized as safe or 'GRAS' for food storage.", April 1997. Since ozone occurs naturally in the atmosphere. and we breathe it every day. the F.D.A. set the limit at .05 ppm to kill bacteria. We exceed the requirements. About Ozone
8. CAN THE FRIDGE GUARD BE USED IN THE FREEZER? Under no circumstances should the unit be placed in a freezer, however, we recommend thawing items open in the refrigerator with FRIDGE GUARD.

10. HOW MUCH POWER IS RUNNING THROUGH THE UNIT WHILE IT IS ON? Four D cell batteries power the unit. One and a half volts each, equals 6 volts of direct current.
11. HOW LONG HAS FRIDGE GUARD BEEN AROUND? Research and development started in the summer of 1996 to full production in August 1997.
12. WHAT ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS ARE IN THE FRIDGE GUARD? The FRIDGE GUARD has a microprocessor for sequential disbursement of ozone, a photo cell for constant replenishment during refrigerator door openings. and a transformer to power the ozone generation. There are a series resistors, capacitors, and also a transistor in the circuit.
13. WHAT IF THE UNIT GETS WET? Normal condensation will not effect the units performance, however, if a liquid is spilled or poured into or on to the unit, the warranty is void.
